What you see now is only a baby step. How fast we can hit our stride depends upon you.

Our web site aims to bring us all together under one roof in order to learn more about each other, exchange ideas, and keep up with news and events in our departments that our supervisors might be unaware of or reluctant to tell.

This is our site, not our department’s site. It will only be as good, interesting, and entertaining as we make it. The board would like to hear any criticism, compliments, ideas, and other thoughts you might have to improve the site.

The jobs we do are second to none in importance to the public safety and consumer protection of Californians. But how much of the public has ever heard of us?

This web site has a dual purpose. The first and obvious one is to serve as a home, town hall, and source of information for CAFDI members. The second purpose is to drive the public and media to a place where they can receive valuable information and learn more about us.

Greater public awareness about CAFDI is no small thing. Some of the biggest consumers of information are legislators and their staffs, and the story they are receiving from the Department of Health Services might not be the complete picture.

The goal of the CAFDI web site is not to be a thorn in anyone’s side, but to be a reliable resource of valuable information for all Californians instead. If greater notoriety for the heroic work we do stems from that, so much the better. But to reverse this equation serves no one and accomplishes nothing.

This is a new venture for all of us, which is why we need to hear from you. The success of our endeavor is directly linked to the interest our members show in keeping it going. Talk to us.
