CSLEA investigators from three agencies uncover $50 million in alleged workers’ compensation insurance fraud

CSLEA-member investigators from three state agencies – Department of Insurance Fraud Division, Employment Development Department, and Franchise Tax Board – have uncovered a combined $50 million in workers’ compensation insurance fraud from two separate investigations.

State of California gets $600,000 check from CAFI-member EDD investigators
California’s Unemployment Trust Fund is $662,718 richer thanks in part to the bloodhound-like work of CSLEA- and CAFI-member investigators for the state’s Employment Development Department (EDD).
Principal investigator Cindy Robert led a team of her fellow EDD sworn peace officers in breaking up the Gold Rush identity theft scheme to defraud the state’s Unemployment Insurance (UI) program that an increasing number of California’s are depending on to get them through this long and deep recession.
