FMESA members at center of preparedness
A joint state and local, fire and rescue operation completed its first practice recently, just in time for the fire season and the daily problems either Mother Nature or man's clumsiness throws at society. All 13 teams of the California Fire & Rescue Training Authority (CFRTA) participated in a simultaneous Cal EMA/CFRTA training drill in Sacramento and El Dorado counties, using their assigned vehicles and equipment caches. FMESA President Bill Bondshu reports: We had a membership meeting at Cal EMA that was attended by over 40 FMESA members. Kasey Clark and Paul Satkowski were guest speakers. Two of the objectives of the meeting were to talk about the benefits of being a member and providing an update to the current conditions regarding furloughs, lawsuits and the threat of minimum wage.
