“Schemes, Scams & Rip-offs”®

The Foundation has developed a half-day seminar designed to educate the public on ways to avoid being taken advantage of by scam artists, con artists and disreputable businesses. This seminar has been held throughout California in conjunction with members of the state legislature. Law enforcement and consumer protection professionals provide attendees with practical advice on how to avoid mail fraud, contractor problems, auto repair fraud, telemarketing scams, insurance scams, identity theft and numerous other white-collar crimes. The Foundation also partnered with a television station and hosted a community-wide event in Sacramento featuring booths from law enforcement and consumer protection agencies.
