CAUSE MOU Bill Passes Assembly Public Employees, Retirement and Social Security Committee
AB 1373 Will Go to Assembly Floor for Concurrence Vote on Monday
Today, July 6, at 9:30 a.m. AB 1373 (Umberg), the CAUSE MOU bill passed out of the Assembly Committee on Public EMployees, Retirement and Social Security with a majority of Democrat votes. Republicans withheld their votes because of the domestic partnership language contained in all of the State contracts to which they morally object.
Next, and nearly last stop, will be for a concurrences vote on the Assembly Floor on Monday, July 11th. After that it will be sent to the Governor for his signature. Since the governor’s Department of Personnel Administration (DPA) has already signed-off on the agreement it would be nearly inconceivable for him to veto the measure.
Barring the Teamsters attempt to invalidate the CAUSE contract vote, which passed by over 68% of the membership, all should be in order for raises, retro-active healthcare checks and other benefit increases to be included in the July pay period.
